Hi! My name is Riaz Bharmal and I am raising money to help fight poverty with Balloon Ventures ICS. 

Balloon Ventures aim to create sustainable development in developing countries, mainly in Africa. This means that we try to create wealth by empowering the local communities to build successful businesses for themselves. 

I hope to raise £1500 by the end of March in order to support a program that would see a further 10,000 young people from the UK help develop or create businesses for communities that have specifically requested the help of ICS (International Citizen Service).

Having been raised in East Africa myself (Tanzania), this program is extremely important to me and I look forward to the chance to share and learn, particularly from African ingenuity, then bring these skills back to the UK and help combat local issues. 

To make things interesting, I will be doing some cool things when I reach certain levels of funding:

£500 – Take a homeless person to lunch

£1000 – Sing "Hit me baby one more time" (Britney Spears) in
Leicester Square

£1500 – Dress in a Sari (traditional South Asian female garment) and go to a public place (suggestions welcome!)
