We offer practical and emotional support to people affected by cancer

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Having reached 60 I'm "celebrating" with a very tough cycling challenge in the Alps. The Etape du Tour is one of the most demanding stages of the Tour de France. From Megeve to Morzine it's 146km with four big climbs, culminating in the Col de Joux-Plane, which is renowned as a brutal climb. The total ascent on the day is 3365m (11,000ft).

It will be a big motivation to make it really worthwhile and raise money for Maggie's Centres planned new building in Southampton. Maggie's Centres are an oasis of calm offering support to those living with cancer and their families. The 18 existing centres have a tradition of innovative architecture. The Southampton centre has been designed by Amanda Levete, the Stirling prize winning architect and has a fund raising target of £5m with a planned start early next year. Your support will be really appreciated.
