Story
Sadly on the 20th July 2011 our dad passed away suddenly after 9 years of suffering from Heart failure.
We have organised the 5th annual Rick Taylor memorial rugby game on Saturday 23rd
July at Acklam Rugby Club to firstly remember him but at the same time to
raise as much money as we can for Heart related charities. Over the past 4
years we have raised over £12,000 in his memory for charity.
This year a Stockton select squad will once again host an Acklam select squad. Acklam won the trophy for the first time last year so the Stockton squad will looking to
regain it in what will no doubt be a highly competitive game.
Following on from last year we would like to raise money for the South Cleveland
Heart Fund.
Earlier in 2016 they succeeded in their quest to raise £1 million in order to purchase a new state of the art MRI scanner. Although they achieved this massive target, their work is never done and they continue to require funding to keep James Cook University Hospital, the Regional Cardiothoracic Centre at the leading edge of advances of care for heart patients.
Given it is the 5th anniversary, we would like to try to raise for £5k this year
but there is no minimum donation as any contribution is kindly received.
The game will be held at Acklam Rugby Club, Saltersgill Ave, Middlesbrough TS4 3QQ and will kick off at 2.15pm.
Please come along to support the event if you can.
Thanks
Dan & Steve
