Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am going to do a series of challenges in order to raise funds for the Bhopal Medical Appeal, in the six month run-up to the 30th anniversary of what is perhaps the worst industrial accident ever, as a result of which many are still suffering. To learn about what happened in Bhopal, the night a toxic cloud of gas enshrouded the town, please look at the website http://www.bhopal.org/. The people of Bhopal seem to have been largely forgotten by the rest of us but it is a tragedy which, although there have been so many others over the years, has particularly touched my heart. To entice you to part with a little of your hard earned cash, I shall be sacrificing my dignity, pushing myself to my physical limits and challenging my imagination (and possibly my family's patience) between July and December. The people of Bhopal affected by the gas really need our help - so let's do what we can.
To kick off, two challenges: I shall shave my head the morning of my birthday, 18th July. (It would be the best birthday present if you make a donation to BMA.) If you are in the region of Plymouth Business School, I shall also be doing a cake sale that day. And then, two days later, on 20th July, I shall attempt to ride 100 kilometres, on my ordinary old bike, (using my ordinary old legs) in the Two Moors Sportive. I've never done either thing before, so wish me luck. Each month, I shall take on a new challenge, so please vist my page for updates. Feel free to suggest a challenge, and if I can rise to it, I will.
