Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
We are Rising Voices - a community choir based in Risinghurst, Oxford. At the end of last year one of our founder members, Janet Munday, died after having a stroke.
We are holding a concert in her memory, and raising money for Headway Oxfordshire - a charity which helped Janet when she was ill, supporting her and her family. We'll also be taking donations on the night for Enrych, another local charity who provided support to Janet when she was ill.
Janet was a fun and friendly lady - she always had a smile on her face, and she always threw herself in to learning the songs for choir and singing along with all she had. Last summer Janet came along to our annual concert - it was the first time she had been to choir for over a year, but she was singing along from her wheelchair! It made us all smile, not least because she always used to tell us she could never remember the words!
It was this memory of Janet that inspired us to hold a concert in her memory, and we're proud to be raising some much-needed funds in her name.
The concert will be held on Sunday 10th March at 7.30pm, in Exeter College Chapel, Oxford. Please come and join us in celebrating Janet's memory.
If you would like to come to the concert please leave us a message saying how many people will be attending. We are not issuing physical tickets but will add you to the guest list. Our suggested donation to the charity is £10 per person but please feel free to give whatever you would like, and what you can afford.
