Story
The 21 of January is a significant date for me. It’s the date that my mum passed away. My mum suffered from pancreatic cancer, the big ‘C’; something that affects many many lives…….and has affected mine in a huge way.
At only 47, she left behind my sister and I, and without the support and advice that was offered to us by Saint Francis Hospice, we would have struggled to put on a smile. But as the days…weeks….months and years have gone by, we have built our lives into something that I hope that she would be proud of.
I have always felt indebted to Saint Francis Hospice for the love and care that they bestowed upon my mum, and for the support that they provided me and my family; but until now I haven’t known how I can repay them.
Now that I own my own company, I am in a position to give something back. So, I have decided to climb Kilimanjaro, and to give 100% of any sponsorship raised direct to Saint Francis Hospice. I know that money doesn’t fix much, but it helps, and just £10 will pay for a patients daily meals, £25 will pay for play materials for a bereaved child.
I want to make just a small difference to the lives that are being helped at Saint Francis Hospice; the way that they made a difference in mine.
My company is entirely paying for my trip to Kilimanjaro, so that any sponsorship raised will go 100% to Saint Francis Hospice; if you sponsor me just £10, I promise that Saint Francis Hospice will get £10.
In addition to the funds raised through Just Giving, I am going to donate a share of my company commission. I will be donating £100 for every sale and £25 for every let, that is completed with Delaney’s from the 21 January 2014 until the 21 November 2014.
Please help me to make a difference at Saint Francis Hospice.
Rob.
