Story
In August 2016 I am taking part in ‘Tour De Frimley’, where I will be cycling nearly 1,000 kilometres over 7 days from Frimley in Surrey to the Battlefields of France.
Tour De Frimley is being organised to raise much needed funds for the Breast Care Appeal at Frimley Park Hospital. The Breast Care Appeal aims to raise £750,000 to provide the latest 3D mammography imaging equipment as well as other vital diagnostic equipment which will help myself, and the breast care team at Frimley to diagnose cancer earlier. The hospital are then matching the fundraising to provide a new, dedicated breast care unit which will provide more personal and dignified care for the 6,000 individuals who visit the unit each year.
New diagnoses of breast cancer in Frimley are even higher than the national average, so the need for such a unit is truly pressing.
As most of you will know this is going to be a physically daunting task for someone of my fitness/ability and most of the group are not expecting me to make it back (I beleive the return ticket is on hold!).
I am told by 'Just Giving' that no donation is too large for this charity, and they have had a special vault installed for my friends knowing how generous you all are!
