Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am raising money for two Charity's for this challenge Greenock Morton Community Trust who run great programmes such as Employability ,Young Football Coaching Boys and Girls also Football Fans in Training which i participated in and has changed my life around not only weight loss and learning facts about food, doing more exercise and making life long friends.

The second Charity is more personal to me is for Glasgow Children's Hospital Charity Metabolic Unit(Formally Known as York Hill). A family member Kaitlyn Branchfield who was born in 2010 was diagnosed in 2012 with a Rare Metabolic Disorder called OTC-Ornithine Transcarbsamylase Deficiency it causes ammonia to accumulate in the blood and seriously affects her dietary needs, she is only allowed limited Protein in her diet around 15 grammes daily. If not monitored correctly sufferers can be lacking in energy, unwilling to eat and this can lead to hyperammonemia and a possible lapse into a coma. The condition also causes development delay and progressive liver damage. If Kaitlyn catches an infection or a cold she has to be hospitalised to recover. She has to be given daily medication via a tube that goes in her nose and down her throat. Kaitlyn is now 5 and will be attending Craigmaloch special school in the summer, she is also having an operation to have a button put in her stomach so that tubes to give medication can be removed from her face. I'm sure everyone knows somebody whose child has been treated at York Hill before and what a great job they do Funding is vital to treat and find cures for conditions like Kaitlyn has Please give what you can it will be greatly received.

Thank You
