Story
On Friday 2nd November 2012, after a very brief illness, Roger lost his life to Sporadic Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease (SCJD). This is an incredibly rare neuro-degenerative illness, affecting less that one person in every million - and there is currently no treatment or cure.
As a family, we have struggled to come to terms with not only the speed of the illness but also the cronic lack of specialist support and advice available. Two weeks prior to Roger's death, we were told the name of the illness, the prognosis, and nothing else.
The CJD Support Network were able to provide some support and guidance for us at the time, however, their only source of income is through charitable donations and resources are stretched to capacity. By donating to the CJD Support Network through this page, you are helping to fund an invaluable 24-hour helpline, as well as access to essential specialist information.
Every penny truly counts. Thank you x
