Story
On the 24th April I will be running the London Marathon for Veteran’s Aid.
I go and watch the London marathon every year, and every year I am overwhelmed by the thousands of people who are trekking through the streets to raise money for charity. I always find it an emotional event as so many people are taking part in memory of people, but I wanted to take part to raise money for people who are still out there, living on the streets, often with drug and alcohol abuse issues.
I’m inspired by my wonderful friend Phil, who works for Veteran’s Aid, the charity supporting ex-serviceman and women; who are mainly dealing with the consequences of life in 21st Century Britain: poverty, unemployment, social isolation, relationship breakdown, mental health problems, drug/alcohol abuse.
