We support education initiatives globally to fight the cycle of poverty

Story

During the 2nd week of November, I will be rolling up my sleeves to teach and support victims of child abuse in the Philippines. My objective is simple; it is to provide the human right to education to those who need it the most and I hope to achieve this by providing children with educational classes, workshops with insights into international cultures and experiences as well as careers advice.

I will be doing this in the capital city of Manila with Bahay Tuluyan, who we have partnered with and launched the 'Bahay Tuluyan - Anonymous Child Scholarship Program'. This scholarship program is aimed at highly capable students in the Philippines who have been forced to overcome difficult challenges of abuse throughout their lives. With this investment into their future, we hope to set them onto a path where they can contribute positively to themselves and society. During my time in the Philippines I will also be assisting the Bahay Tuluyan team with the infrastructure and operations that are supporting this initiative.

As some of you may know, I have co-founded an international charitable organisation with the view to address some of the impacts that poverty has on the most vulnerable group in our population – children and young adults. In the case of the Philippines, over 25% of the total population lives below the poverty line and children and young adults, in particular girls and young woman, are caught up in unspeakable crimes such as child soldiering, child prostitution, child labour and child abuse. Anonymous Child has been established to enable the current and next generations to become a positive driving force benefiting society in a nation where extreme poverty is rife.

As the Philippines is close to home, being a half-Filipino myself, any donations are very much appreciated. Please note that I have paid for my own tickets etc so all donations are truly going directly to Anonymous Child and the educational programs it is supporting. Don't forget to add GIFT AID (it adds 25% to the donation).

Best, Rory

Anonymous Child fights the cycle of poverty and inequality by providing support to high-impact local projects that enable the most vulnerable group of society – children and young adults – to become a positive driving driving force within their communities. We envision a world where all children and young people, regardless of their economic background, are given access to high-quality education and care to ensure a fair start in life and set them on the path towards a brighter future.
