I'm travelling to Jordan with a group of friends from my church to take aid to Syrian and Iraqi refugees in Jordan.

The civil war in Syria began in 2011 as part of the wider Arab Spring and quickly became brutal. The people affected by the fighting began to leave their homes, fleeing to safety in neighbouring countries, including Jordan. Many of these people were grieving for loved ones. Some arrived with terrible injuries and some still carried shrapnel in their bodies. Psychological wounds were also evident, and children are especially traumatised.  We will have a chance to meet whole families, hear their stories, comfort, distribute aid and offer prayers.
