Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
The photo you see above is the last one I have of my Grandpa before he passed away. He died on 19 April after a short battle with cancer which he fought with great courage and dignity. He never complained once and kept his lovely, funny sense of humour right until he closed his eyes. He spent his last days in The Alexandra Unit at Dumfries hospital where he received the best care and attention he could ever have wished for. The Doctors and Nurses didn’t make him feel like he was dying but more like he was living his last days like a King. Nothing was too much trouble for them and my Grandpa and our family were treated with such care and respect.
For this reason I would like to raise some money to go direct to the Alexandra Unit in memory of my Grandpa as a way of showing our gratitude for all they did for us.
I’d be very grateful if you would sponsor me to complete it. Any amount you could spare, no matter how little it may be, would be so much appreciated and would be passed to such a worthy cause. Many people have been affected by this terrible disease in the past and sadly many more will lose their lives to it in the future.
Please help me to show our gratitude to the special people in The Alexandra Unit who make the end of life care for patients so very dignified, just as they did for my Grandpa.
Anything you give will be so gratefully received.
Thank you.
