Story
Roy was such a gentleman
A class above the rest
Never a bad word spoken
You could say he was the best
He loved life to the full
Always smiling through
If you wanted to know something
He always had time for you
He loved the great outdoors
Either camping or in a van
A meal a beer a cosy chat
A silly joke Roy was the man
A holiday every year in Wales
A ski trip somewhere too
Come sea sand snow or gales
It was something he loved to do
There are two things come to the fore
Apart from knowing about his socket
He had a pen in his shirt for sure
And a scout knife in his pocket
Whether walking over the hills
Or doing some incredible climbs
Roy JD JP and I
Have had some fantastic times
We did some really stupid things
Avalanches white outs and being lost
Walked all over the countryside
In sleet hail snow and frost
But I would do it all again
To be close to my friend Roy
All the pleasure and the pain
We could still do so much more
We can talk about the things we’ve done
And the enjoyment we have shared
The days the nights the walks
The climbs the beers and being scared
But unfortunately Roy has gone
To explore the pastures new
And we are left with memories
Of the four motley crew
I miss you my good friend
Goodbye

Thanks for taking the time to visit our page.
We don't feel that there is much we need to say. Roy was clearly much loved by all because of his good humour, interest in others and positive outlook on life and people.
We were grateful for the extra time we had with him and this was thanks to his speedy journey by helicopter from Ben Lawers to Ninewells hospital in Dundee.
Before he left the hospital Roy was moved to a ward that overlooked the helipad and he was desperate to see the helicopter that had brought him there! It was the main feature when he told his story to friends and family and so we felt that this would be a wonderful fundraising opportunity.
Thank you all for your kindness and support so far...it has been overwhelming to hear how many people's lives he has touched in so many different and positive ways.
