Story
This May I'm running in the Edinburgh half-marathon. It's my first ever half-marathon - in fact the first time I've ever run longer than 5k. Six months ago I struggled to run for two or three minutes, and could barely believe that I'd ever be able to manage two or three hours!
I'm running for Seamab in Kinross. Seamab is a school and residential campus which cares for and educates vulnerable, emotionally fragile, children aged between five and twelve who have complex needs. It's nationally recognised for its specialist work with children, and a unique service in Scotland.
Seamab believe that children can heal, grow and learn, even when they have experienced severe trauma and loss. Their role is to provide the support and opportunities that make this possible.
I can't really imagine what life has been like for those children before they got to Seamab, but the thought that any money I raise here will help to make sure their future is better than their past will help me through the 13.1 miles.
It would mean a lot to me if you could sponsor me to support this excellent work. I'm aiming to raise £500 in total - that's the cost of creating a new bedroom at Seamab for a child which is entirely their own space, possibly the first time they've ever had that comfort.
