Story
This year Rachel, and I will be ticking one off the bucket list on April 24th, when we complete the 2016 London Marathon. Carina is a seasoned marathon runner and will be joining us just one week after running the Brighton Marathon! We were all lucky enough to get a charity place through Cardiomyopathy UK, a charity which is very important to us at the moment.
Back in July our very good friends found out their 2 year old daughter, Rosie, has restrictive cardiomyopathy - which means she has a weak and failing heart and needs a transplant. The family have been through some turbulent times, the most scary being just before Christmas when Rosie went into cardiac arrest and her Mum, Sara, had to perform CPR. She is now on the urgent donor list and is awaiting 'the call' for transplant.
Rosie and her family are amazing and inspirational and Rachel and I are excited to put in the hours of training to pound the pavements of London in order to raise money for this fantastic charity who's research will help little Rosie and others cardiomyopathy patients.
Please give what you can afford - large or small everything counts.
As well as raising lots of money we are hoping to continue the Day family's mission to raise awareness of organ donation and giving blood.
If you or your child needed a transplant would you accept a donation? Please consider registering yourself as a donor - your children too, and share your decision with your loved ones, you can register at www.organdonation.nhs.uk or call 03001232323.
You can register to give blood by visiting www.blood.co.uk.
