Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
My daughter Lola was born on 29th February 2016, 3 months early at 28 weeks. She weighed just 2 pounds and half an ounce (less than a bag of sugar) and dropped to 1 pound 7 ounces in the first few days of her life. Lola is now nearly 4 months old and is weighing 8 pound 3. She's our little miracle!
We've been on a very scary journey with our daughter, spending 52 days in NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit) which we could not have got through without the support of our friends, family and most of all the Neonatal Team. They saved our daughter's life and without them she wouldn't be here today, not only are they fully trained to save the lives of babies, they also have amazing people skills to help parents through such a traumatic ordeal.
We want to give something back to say thank you to the NICU for saving our baby girl's life, and thought what better way than to complete the Tough Mudder event and raise some money for the unit. We want to help them buy another life saving machine, or maybe do out the breastfeeding room to make it a little nicer for mums who spend hours each day pumping milk as their little ones are physically not able to suck and cannot be taken home, but want to give their babies the best start in life.
We would be really grateful if you could please donate as much as you can to help us raise money for this fantastic unit and help make more miracles happen.
