Over the coming months I will be hoping to raise money for this amazing charity which does such fantastic work for Autistic children and their families.

This swim will mark the beginning of my fund raising and is in memory of the husband of my friend Vanessa Furey. I met Vanessa when I moved to Ireland, and she was a great friend to me at a time when I was feeling quite far away from my friends and family in England.

Vanessa lost Mick less than a year ago, after a short illness. She is now caring for her two wonderful children, one of which is Autistic and is on the waiting list for an assistance dog from this great charity. Autism Assistance Dogs Ireland was Mick's nominated charity.
