We are home to rare and endangered species to support animal conservation projects.

Story

Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. With fewer than 2500 breeding snow leopards remaining in the wild, conservation work is vital to prevent yet another species from being eradicated from its natural habitat.

Having sponsored Makalu for several years, a rather handsome young snow leopard cub born at Dudley Zoo, he has recently been transferred to a breeding programme in Darjeeling where his offspring will be released into the wild to bolster the declining numbers.

Tragically, around this time time his mom, Nanga, died whilst giving birth to a cub that also passed away a few weeks later.

A new mate is being sought for Margaash to enable the breeding project in Dudley to continue and having seen first hand just how passionate the keepers and staff are about these fantastic creatures, I am keen to further support this brilliant programme.

They are fabulous creatures sadly facing the consequences of humans encroaching upon their natural habitat - they cannot be allowed to disappear from our world.
