Story
Thanks for visiting my JustGiving page!
From the end of July to early September I will endeavour to walk the entire 630 mile South West Coast Path, backpack and all, for Girlguiding South West England. This solo journey will take approximately eight weeks to complete; the path starts at Minehead in Somerset and will end in Poole where I would then like to take a ferry across to Brownsea Island, the birthplace of Scouting and Guiding, which seems like the perfect place to finish my challenge. I would like to raise £630 – a £1 for every mile – for this worthy charity and the region that has given me so much over the past three years. Girlguiding SWE offers its members amazing opportunities and dedicates itself to Girlguiding’s mission: to give girls a voice and to help them grow. Without its hardworking and loyal volunteers Girlguiding would not exist. I want to advocate its successes and encourage the continuation of all the brilliant work that is done for girls and women of the South West region.
I am currently a Girlguiding Council Member for South West England which means I represent my region on a national level hoping to voice to HQ the opinions of my region’s members. To undertake the South West Coast Path is a fitting challenge but it will be demanding – I don’t think I have quite fully recognised this yet! Every £1 donated will spur me on over the ups and downs of the British coastline and I will be so grateful.
I’ll be undertaking various practice hikes in the build up to Britain’s longest National Trail that you can keep up to date with on this page. You can also have a look at my Facebook or Instagram profiles for updates before and during the hike!
If anyone would like to join me on segments of the Path then yes yes yes – let me know!
Thank you all so much for your kind donations!
