Story
Really excited to get the opportunity to run London. It's my first attempt at entry and my first marathon on home soil. Started the 16 week training in January and am pleased to say that I'm making good progress and am well on track :o)
You may have seen in my email and/or FB post that I'm going to run in aid of SIFA Fireside, a charity for the homeless in the Birmingham area. The charity does great work to offer support and training to help people that are living on the streets and who really need a life line. I'll admit that I've had the odd whinge about doing long and tough training sessions in the cold and wet weather this winter in order to get race fit, but have to say that the challenges that I've faced are absolutely nothing compared to the adversities of sleeping rough and living in such conditions on a day to day basis. By supporting this charity, I hope that it will enable them to continue to offer some respite, nourishment and comfort to a great number of homeless in the area.
Please dig deep :o) Any donation will be really gratefully received and put to good use by the charity.
Thanks for taking the time to visit and read my page.
