Story
CWNN is in real need of money this year; it’s a small charity and is getting hit hard by funding issues. There are 4 Choirs across the country and it takes a lot of dollar to keep them all going, e.g.
- £10 pays for one person’s travel and food expenses for a gig
- £50 pays for a hearty, healthy meal for 35 choir members
- £75 pays for the venue hire for one rehearsal
Please donate anything you can, it goes to such a good cause. Anything you can offer is truly appreciated.(Please Gift Aid if possible!)
I have been the musical director for the Choir With No Name South London since its start 3 and a half years ago. It's a choir for people who have experienced homelessness. We get together pretty much every Tuesday of the year - sing for an hour and a half then share a hot meal together.
It's an amazing recipe for providing a joyful supportive community to those who are some of the most vulnerable.
It's become one the dominant themes in my life over the last 3 and half years and in this time I have seen people come and go and come back and the choir is always there for them - for many it has become a home and a place of hope.
I'm afraid that I won't be running a marathon or plunging through mud - or even going out training. I have three very small children and just getting out of the house some mornings feels like an entirely epic achievement. Just living and earning a living is all I can do right now. So I'm just plain old asking for donations to keep this wonderful charity going and growing.
