I arrived in Kenya in August 2009 with the aim of making a difference to the life of some of the world's poorest children. I soon came across Tushinde www.tushinde.org.uk and was delighted to be asked to become a trustee of this charity which helps provide education and nutrition to some of the most needy children, including orphans from the slums of Mathare and Dandora.
These children are remarkable, they face daily hardships that most of us cannot fathom and yet they do so with a smile. I have been moved and inspired by their courage, and now I'd like to raise some money that can be used to create scholarships for some of the brightest students to enable them to have an opportunity in life that they might not have had otherwise.
Please help me to make this happen and spare some pennies to change the lives of these incredible children.
Climbing Mt Kilimanjaro will be tough and your support will help me to do this trek with enthusiasm and to make the difference to the life of a child. I will be doing the climb in the middle of February and I will be busy training between now and then! Rising 19,340 feet above sea level, Kilimanjaro is the tallest mountain in Africa and the world’s highest free standing mountain- so its no easy feat!
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
So please dig deep and donate now.
Thank you so much,
Sam
