Story
Anyone that knows me well will know two things about me:
1) I LOVE to talk and;
2) I love to run.
So on the 24th April 2016 I've decided to run the London Marathon in aid of I CAN, a charity which helps children with Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN). They are the only UK-wide charity that supports children's communication skills, the springboard from which children learn, achieve and make friends. I CAN works to foster the development of speech, language and communication skills in all children with a special focus on those who find this hard: children with a communication disability.
To better understand what it must be like for some of the children that I CAN supports, and to hopefully raise even more money, I have also set myself what some of you may think is mission impossible...a SPONSORED SILENCE. On Wednesday 6 April I shall be silent for a whole day, so in other words 24 hours/1,440 minutes or 86,400 seconds.
The hardest part of this challenge for me will not be running the 26.2 miles, but actually keeping quiet for so long. If you don't think I can do it (or even if you think I can) please put your money where your mouth is (pardon the pun) and sponsor me!
JustGiving sends your donation straight to I CAN and automatically reclaims Gift Aid if you are a UK taxpayer, so your donation is worth even more. Further information about this wonderful charity can be found at www.ican.org.uk
THANK YOU SO MUCH for your support and for visiting my fundraising page. Wish me luck - I'm going to need it!!
