Story
First & foremost, thankyou for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
For those of you who don't know me well, I am almost into my 5th year of service within the British Army. However, I am due to leave the forces in July 16 to venture into the big bad civilian world for a new challenge!
I am raising money for Felix Fund - The Bomb Disposal Charity. This charity directly impacts my colleagues & myself and will continue to do so once I have left the Army. I am using this fundraising event as a way of saying thankyou. A thankyou to the Army & more specifically my trade for all that I have achieved in my short career, however, not for the last minute deployments!
The Felix Fund supports bomb disposal experts and their families. They fund therapeutic normalisation breaks to help bomb disposal teams readjust to life in the UK after returning from Afghanistan and other welfare/rehabilitation facilities for explosive ordnance disposal units. The charity also supports the trade's many injured and bereaved, but also members of the wider 'bomb disposal family' who have otherwise fallen on hard times.
This charity has played a huge presence throughout my career, from sending out 'care packages' to soldiers on tour over Christmas to providing funding for adventurous training. I hope the money I raise from running the 2016 London Marathon will continue to directly impact my colleagues for when I am no longer serving.
I hope I have said enough to convince you to donate, as I am really no good at this kind of thing! If you've made it this far, I'm sure it's felt like a marathon in itself... However, I would be extremely thankful for any donation you can give, whatever that may be, and I can assure you it is for a fantastic cause.
For any further information on me or the charity please don't hesitate to message me directly and visit the Felix Fund website at www.felixfund.org.uk
Thanks again for your time and I hope you can help me in achieving my goal!
