Story

I am taking part in this years Newmarket Town Plate. The Town plate is a historic horse race which has been run in the town of Newmarket, Suffolk since 1666. It is over a distance of 3 miles and 6 furlongs.

I am raising money for the National Heritage Centre (www.homeofhorseracingtrust.org). 2016 is a very important year for Newmarket as they are celebrating 350 years of making history. (www.weare350.co.uk).

In 2016, Palace House, the last remaining element of Charles II’s Newmarket palace, will open its doors to the public as the new National Heritage Centre for Horseracing and Sporting Art. Building work started in 2014 — development is well underway and the site is due to be opened in 2016.
