Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
In 2012, we (Sarah and Matt) were given the devastating news that our twins were conjoined and sharing organs. We were told that they would not survive birth. In May 2012 I gave birth to our gorgeous identical twin boys who were stillborn. This time in our lives was worse than either of us could have ever imagined. We struggled on until a friend told us about the Adult Bereavement Service at Tynedale Hpspice at Home. I (Sarah) started bereavement support with a lovely lady at the hospice, and over the coming months she helped me to come to terms with what had happened and bring some normality back to our lives. Just having someone to talk to was so important in learning to manage my grief. Without her and the support of the hospice, I wouldn't have been able to move forward with my husband and new baby daughter.
I can't thank the Adult Bereavement Service enough for the support that they provided and I'm hoping that raising funds towards their work will help them to continue supporting other adults. They provide a safe and confidential space where the bereaved person can talk on a one-on-one basis, for as long as the service is needed. The bereavement support services are open-access and free!
