Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
My 2 year old daughter Zoey is believed to have a CDKL5 disorder or atypical Rett Syndrome. She has seizures, global developmental delay, vision impairment and is tube fed. However, she has made wonderful progress this year - thanks in large part to her fantastic doctors and therapists.
Funding and research into CDKL5 will provide better treatments and therapies for children with this disorder, and will enable Zoey to continue her progress and to have a better quality of life. And one day, it may even lead to a cure.
To raise money for this great cause, I am committing to running, walking, rowing, swimming or cycling 5km every day for 50 days, beginning on 19 August. Only rules are that I can't "bank" my distances (so I can't run 10km one day and take the next day off) and that the occasional kickboxing session with my trainer Hayley counts as 5km (anyone who knows Hayley knows she's not going to let me off easy). I will post updates regularly to prove I'm sticking to my commitment.
And I'm inviting YOU to join me. Those of you in Brisbane are welcome to join Zoey and me for a run or a walk. Those of you in other parts of the world can do a 5km in honour of Zoey. Just be sure to share the link to this fundraising page so we can keep the donations coming in!
