We provide unique residential facilities to allow disabled children a holiday

Story

On the 18th June I will be starting the biggest physical challenge I have ever faced! I will be cycling as part of a relay team of 6 from The Wingate Centre through Wales, Ireland, Northern Ireland, Scotland and England to cover a 560 mile loop in just 48 hours. This means that over the course of two days I will cycling a personal distance of around 200 miles and countless feet in climbing - only sleeping in a minibus!!!

The charity I am raising funds for is The Wingate Centre who run holidays, sports and recreation activities for children and adults with physical and learning disabilities. It's a charity local to me and I have seen first hand some of the amazing work they do to give everyone the chance to take part in sports and have a holiday of a lifetime. This year the charity is welcoming almost 700 visitors and carers from all over the country and the benefits of spending a week away from home at this wonderful place are far reaching. Sadly for some this maybe the only holiday they ever have. The charity does not receive any government funding and needs to raise around £300,000 a year just to keep the doors open and I want to help - I know every penny really will make a difference to this charity.
