Screwfix & Altavia Challenge 2016
The Brecon Beacons
For our charity challenge this year we are taking on the Brecon Beacons. Home of the SAS training team we will embark on two tough routes over two days.
Day One starts off with a tough 6 ½ miles of the Glyn Tarrell geotrail. This tough route, which takes in Fan Fawr, the plateau of Fforest Fawr & the glacially formed Craig Cerrig-Gleisiad, is home to Wales’s first European Geopark. Some steep climbs involved for day one.
Day two is the much harder 11 miles of the Beacons Circuit. This route takes in almost all of the Brecons main summits and ridges in one hit. Including 873m Corn Du and the 886m high Pen-y-Fan.
It’s going to be a tough 2 days of hiking in all terrains.
And once again we are fundraising for the Screwfix Foundation.
This years' challenge team consists of Rod Bowditch, Nick White, Richard Gingell, Claire Sweet, Angela Milner, David Marshall, Murray Charlton, Juanita Valture, Andy Screen, Tom Blake. Nick Sale, Kim Fourmy, Agata Jaszczuk & Chris Nicholson.
About The Screwfix Foundation:
The Screwfix Foundation is a registered charity set up in 2013. We have a clear purpose of raising funds to support projects that will fix, repair, maintain and improve properties and community facilities for those in need throughout the UK.
We raise funds throughout the year to support causes that will change people's lives. We work with both national and local charities, donating much needed funds to help all sorts of projects, from repairing building and improving facilities in deprived areas, to decorating the homes of people living with sickness and disabilities.
To date we have raised over £1 million since launching in 2013, helping more than 300 local charities throughout the UK, as well as supporting two National Charity Partners; Barnardos and MacMillan.
