Story
In 2011 my Dad was diagnosed with cancer. He was a fit and healthy man, but despite this, his illness was to be terminal and within 3 months he had passed away. It was, and still is hard to understand.
Despite the shock and sadness of my Dad's final days, the staff at Cransley Hospice looked after all of his needs and treated him with such care and dignity that I will always be in their debt.
In an attempt to repay some of this debt, me and one of my oldest friends, Richard Shaw, are planning to cycle from Glasgow to the village of Seabrook, which is on the coast of Kent.
Despite our passion for cycling, this is going to be a significant undertaking, a total distance of 471 miles (759km) to be covered in just 3 days at the end of May:
Day 1 - Glasgow to Thirsk - 184 miles (297km)
Day 2 - Thirsk to Market Harborough - 134 miles (217km)
Day 3 - Market Harborough to Seabrook 152 miles (245km)
We will be paying for all of our transport, food and accommodation to ensure that every penny raised goes direct to the hospice.
I am very conscious that a number of you do not know of and will never benefit from Cransley Hospice, but the work that they do is hugely valuable for patients and family members and I would be very grateful for any donation.
Thank you in advance for your support!
