Latest update:
Shalom and Rohan completed our marathon bike ride on the 29
July 2016!
Rohan was superb and, if anything, was being held back by his old man. Shalom found it to be the hardest physical challenge he has ever undertaken.
The screenshot from a cycling app shows you the route we took. In total, we did just under 130 miles in over 13 hours of cycling with 6 climbs and more than 5800 calories burnt. We were spurred on by the knowledge that so many of you have generously sponsored us. Thank you! It was a huge encouragement to both us us during those bleak and painful climbs.
It is not too late, if you are still interested in sponsoring us. We are close to our target, but would love to get even closer. Rohan and Shalom are very grateful for your support for us – and the Urology Foundation (TUF).
Previously, we wrote,
Shalom and Rohan will make an (unwise?) attempt to cycle the west to east of England coast to coast route in 1(- yes one) day. "Why?!" we hear you cry. Perhaps a combination of mid-life crisis and supreme lack of fitness (Shalom), post-GCSE blues and solidarity with his father (Rohan), and a desire to see whether we can improve on the 3 days it took us last time.
But seriously, we wanted to raise awareness of and funds for The Urology Foundation (TUF). TUF are a small charity dedicated to the whole panoply of urological problems. Not only did they help Shalom in his early training but more recently TUF have supported ongoing research at East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust.
Remember, we all fall into two categories:
1 those who have already seen a Urologist
2 those who will see a Urologist in the future
So, as we battle against the winds, climbs and saddle sores, please help TUF lead the fight against urological disease.
