Thanks for visiting my JustGiving fundrasing page. I have this set up so that those abroad, or those that would be unable to donate in person can help with this good cause. I am visiting Ghana in July 2012 in order to volunteer as a vet in a practice in the city of Kumasi. Located in West Africa, Ghana's economy relies on Agriculture and the health and welfare of animals is seen as an essential part of rural development. Because of my experience in the Irish pig industry, I have a vast knowledge of diseases, their causes, prevention and cures, post mortems, vaccinations, lab work etc.

I will also be spending time on a project in the Akuapem Hills. This area is where the Akan people live and I will be visiting schools in small villages teaching schoolchildren about the benefits of eating fruit and vegetables. Farmers do not know that their fertile soils have the neccessary minerals to grow fruits - something that they believe only ''white people'' eat. I will be explaining to them how to grow these.

This is why I feel I can contribute to the people of Ghana but I need your help so please please donate.

Thank you
