Story
Firstly, thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
This will be one of the biggest physically demanding challenges I have ever faced. For even the keenest of riders this is their Everest, for myself, this is bigger than that. The last time I properly rode a bike was nearly 10 years ago. This will require a complete change in lifestyle and dedicating nearly all of my free time to train for this event. I hope to complete the course somewhere between 8-9 hours. You can take a look at what I will endure here:

So, why Andover and District Mencap?
Although it bears the Mencap name, Andover and District Mencap receives no funding from the national body. They provide excellent care and support to adults and children with learning disabilities and also to their families and carers throughout the Test Valley.
There are no limits to what this amazing charity can achieve, in 2015 alone, the charity was able to significantly increase service coverage and reached out to many more individuals:
- 20% increase in delivery of support hours
- 14% increase in the number of clients supported
- 58% increase in the use of their buddy scheme aimed at children
- 155% increase in the use of the charity’s respite service at their respite home, Stephens Ark, where 30 children have accessed 7080 hours of day and overnight care.
There is so much more that could be said about this charity but don’t just take it from me, find out more about them: http://andovermencap.org/
