Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Once again I am raising money for Kemp hospice, a local charity, that needs funding to carry on providing a valuable service. Kemp Hospice provides a major support system for the local community with their primary goal to provide palliative care and support, adding to the quality of life for our patients and their carer.
I have always taken part in gruelling events since leaving the Royal Marines to both keep me challenged but also to help local charities.
This year I have decided to raise money by taking on a Night Ultra Marathon and an Ironman Triathlon.
In October, I will travel to Calella, in Spain to take on Ironman Barcelona. The race involves a swim of 2.4 miles in the open Mediterranean Sea, cycling a staggering 112 miles inland on closed roads and to finish off, running a 26.2 mile marathon.
The entire triathlon needs to be finished within 17 hours in order to successfully complete it.
Then in November, I will be taking on another extreme challenge with an Ultra Marathon called Sunset to Sunrise which will involve a continuous 15 hour run starting at 4pm and finishing 7am.
Shelley Stanley, Challenge and Events Fundraiser at KEMP said: “Shaun is fantastic. We are so grateful for the continued support over the years.
“As well as fundraising for us Shaun also supports KEMP by volunteering at our events, such as Santa Fun Run. I do hope people will sponsor Shaun via his Just Giving page to help him reach his £1,000 target.
“I’m sure this support will help spur him on during the difficult times in both challenges and anything raised will make such a huge difference to everyone in our care."
