Story
Thanks for taking time to visit my JustGiving page.
I have recently become involved in raising awareness for a wonderful charity, The Abbeyfield Society.
What do they do?
The people at Abbeyfield make a big difference. They help older people live a happier and more fulfilling life, in comfortable small group homes that provide companionship and assistance for their needs. There is a real sense of community and family, and each resident is encouraged to be as active and engaged as they are able.
If you’d like to learn more please go to www.abbeyfield.com. Or to hear about experiences from some of the residents and volunteers, please go to www.youtube.com/watch?v=mJccWuNNz_g.
Where is Abbeyfield?
Abbeyfield began in England in 1956. Now there are Abbeyfield homes in several countries around the world, including the US and Australia, dedicated to alleviating loneliness and improving the quality of life for older people.
I’ve been inspired by someone who happens to live in England, who tirelessly devotes time and resources to help this worthy cause. And this inspiration has stirred a passion that has given me a greater purpose in life, reaching out to help someone in need.
Can you help someone outside your own backyard? Of course you can.
What can you do?
You can give a gift right here. Any contribution, however modest, can go a long way to improving the quality of life for older people.
Funds are sent directly to the charity, and your personal details are secure and protected. No unwanted emails are ever sent out.
Please help Abbeyfield continue its important work, and help make this world just a little bit better place. Your gift would be more than welcome and greatly appreciated.
With sincere thanks,
Sheila Wray
