Story
I am taking part in 'The Longest Day Down' Challenge. At dawn on the 21st June a rabble of hopelessly unprepared riders will leave John O Groats aiming to arrive at Land's End by dawn the next morning, without using motorways, on a motorcycle bought for £300! The bikes are crashed, forgotten, worn out cast offs held together by string and a prayer! Not the ideal machine for the 906 mile trip.
BUT I aim to include the other two 'Corners' of our island, Lowestoft in the East and St David's in the West of Wales, then ride to John O Groats to start the Longest Day Down Challenge! This small detour will mean my challenge bike the 'Deerhunter', a crashed, elderly, bodged together Honda 600, will have completed almost 2500 miles in 3 days!!
I'm a volunteer rider for the Severn Freewheelers Blood Bike group who provide a free of charge out of hours medical courier service for the NHS delivering Blood, Medication, Samples and notes. The charity receives no funding from the NHS and relies soley on donations to keep the bikes on the road. I have ridden 13500 miles on the blood bike and hope to raise donations to help cover the costs for many deliveries to come.
Thanks
