Since she was born our (now) 11 year old daughter, Anna, has lived with a life-threatening allergy to nuts and sesame seeds. The impact this has on her and our daily lives is substantial, and sadly she often misses out on the normal small pleasures that children look forward to. 

On a different note, a few years ago I was having too much fun sledging and my foot ended up facing the wrong way! After having various bolts and plates inserted walking was a challenge let alone running...for me, running the Brighton Marathon is going to be a tough ask but nothing compared to the challenges that my daughter faces every day. 

Allergy UK is a charity dedicated to investing in research to develop cures, and also help sufferers cope with their allergy (physically and psychologically), so anything I can do to support their work seems like time well spent. Anything you can give, will be gratefully received.
