On Sunday 17th April I shall be running the Brighton Marathon and am delighted to support Dyscover, a fantastic local charity providing long-term support and opportunities to people with Aphasia in Surrey and South London.

Most of us know someone who has been affected by Stroke and the loss of speech, or Aphasia, is a common, devastating and sadly often overlooked side-effect. Aphasia affects around 1 in 3 stroke survivors and the wider impact on family and relationships is huge.

By raising money for them, I will be helping Dyscover continue to provide an exciting programme of daily sessions, events and activities led by professional speech and language therapists and help survivors adjust to living with Aphasia by improving their ability to communicate, grow in confidence and self-esteem.  They also provide long-term support for partners, carers and other family members.
