Story

This year I am going to take on all 5 of the Great swim
series. These are 1500m open water swims in some of the most interesting water
ways in the UK. I take on:

  • Great North Swim in Lake Windermere on 11th
    June
  • Great East Swim in Alton Water (Ipswich) on 18th
    June
  • Great Manchester Swim in Salford Quays on 2nd
    July
  • Great London Swim in Newham on 16th
    July
  • Great Scottish Swim in Loch Lomond on 27 August

I am raising money for 4 charities which that all important to
me and I would really appreciate any support you can offer to these Charities.
Please follow the links through from my team page to the charity you would like
to support. You can of course support more than one, though this will require
you going through with separate donations it very much worth your time.

My charities are and more info can be found on their own
websites

  • Simon on the Streets - provides emotional and practical support
for people with complex needs who cannot or will not access other services.
Within that group it focuses on people who are homeless and rootless,
especially those with issues related to rough sleeping.
  • Lymphoma Association - every 40 minutes another person learns
they have lymphatic cancer. For most it’s the first time they've heard of it.
We are the only charity in the UK solely dedicated to supporting them. With
your help people can get the vital information and support they need to cope
    with a diagnosis.
  • Border Terrier Welfare – covers the whole UK
supporting veterinary care, shelter and re homing of Border Terriers. All staff
    are non-paid and volunteers
  • Greenfingers - is committed to supporting children and
families through the creation of magical gardens at children's hospices
throughout the UK. All the Greenfingers’ gardens are unique and are created to
help make life a little better for children and families in hospices.

Thank you so much for your support

About the charity

Started in November 1981 with two strays in Southampton, we now cover the UK, receiving some 250 referrals annually, with dedicated volunteers and no paid staff. A committee of 12 is elected annually at an October AGM. 10 of these are charity trustees, who meet 4 times a year to review progress and determine strategy. BTW receive invaluable support and assistance from 7 regional breed clubs, and from the more informal btposse, and borderfest groups, from whom fund raising challenges have emanated.
