WALK FROM WHITSTABLE TO DOVER - details....

In August, over a three day period ,  I, Rev Simon Tillotson, shall be walking along the coast from Whitstable to Dover, via overnight stays at Minnis Bay and Sandwich. This is to raise money for our church organ appeal for All Saints Whitstable. We need to raise a further 18,000 pounds to reach our target of 30,000 pounds so that we can carry out repair, cleaning work and renovation of our magnificent church organ which is over 100 years old. This is so it can be used for future generations of wedding couples and on Sundays. The organ can still be used for the time being but we want to carry out the restoration work so that more expensive restoration costs are averted later. We are very conscious that the church organises appeals for far more worthy causes such as Christian Aid and The Nepal DEC Earthquake appeal but we also have to raise  money for our inhouse costs. We have limited funds and have just spent 10,000 pounds on protecting our church walls from rain ingress. We therefore hope that friends and family of Simon and all those who love All Saints Whitstable will give generously to this cause. The walk is approximately 15 to 18 miles a day on average.

Please note - I am told by the Diocese of Canterbury that though we can claim Gift Aid from your donations, we have to ask each donor to apply individually. I apologise for the extra work this entails. If you would like to Gift Aid your donation please visit the organ appeal website above where you will find at the top of the page a link that will take you to a Gift Aid declaration. Please print it out, fill it out , sign it and send it to me, Rev Simon Tillotson, at the Vicarage, Church Street, Whitstable, CT5 1PG. I quite understand if you do not have the time to do this. Please click on "read more of my story" to find out details of the walk. Thank you.
