Story

My wife, Laura, and I are living at St Francis' Hospital in Katete for 1 year.

The hospital does not have a piped supply of oxygen. Patients who need oxygen can be provided with this using portable machines called 'oxygen concentrators'.

There is an acute shortage of spares for these machines, many of which are out of service as a result. Several of those which are in use are not working at full capacity.

Recently, one of the few working machines was succesfully used to save the life of a young girl who was having a severe asthma attack.

Every day here doctors are faced with this awful decision: Which patient should be given the oxygen supply and which patients should go without.

Help me to raise the necessary funds to purchase spare parts for the oxygen concentrators. I will be working alongside the hospital workshop team to carry out the work when the parts arrive.
