Story

On the 28th April 2014 my heart stopped beating. For 19 out of every 20 people this happens to it is the end.  I'm one of the lucky ones, a defibrillator and three lovely people made it possible for me to have the operation that is changing my life from ending at age 53.

The operation that saved my life has, in reality, given me a 2nd life so I am celebrating my second life birthday (which is on the 28th April or 12th May 2015, take your pick) To celebrate Ill be walking the 84 miles of Hadrains Wall the week commencing 9th May ... cause I can!

I'm raising money for 2 defibrillator causes.

The Matthew Burgess Memorial Fund.  Matthew wasn't as lucky as me, he died, aged 20, while playing football with his friends.  The Matthew Burgess Memorial Fund is raising money to support defibrillators in educational establishments. They believe that defibs in schools will save lives.

The British Heart Foundation has a community defib support fund.  The foundation will part fund community defibrillators, I'm raising money to fund the community element. - All online donations go to SADS UK and cash in hand will go to BHF

All costs associated with this are being met by me or the people walking with me. Apologies for the picture, its designed to catch attention. Anyone fancies coming with me then the more the merrier, we are now 16 people walking the wall.
