Story
In May 2012 I will be embarking on an attempt to break the record for the "World’s Highest Gig" at Mera Peak, in Nepal at an altitude of 6,476 metres. As the highest of the "trekking peaks" in Nepal, Mera is even higher than Everest base camp. I will be doing this alongside Richie Littler, a friend and fellow Groove School volunteer.
For most of you who know us, you will know that the Groove School operates free dj and music production lessons for children, from 'the stables' studio at the White Lion pub in Streatham - the base for the charity Music4Children - the charity and its aims are very close to the Groove School's heart.
The whole trip will take a month including over 3 weeks trekking. As surprising candidates for a Himalayan expedition, we are really pushing the boundaries with the ultimate objective to genuinely make a difference to children's lives - we hope you believe in us and will donate to this worthy cause.
Finally, we will be running a series of events between now and May to assist in reaching our target.
Our efforts will raise much needed funds to fully support orphaned children in Nepal, for a minimum of three years, in a facility that has just been completed by Music4Children. As part of the WHG trip we will be trying to break the record for the world's highest dj gig.
