Story

On Friday 8th July 2016 the physical World lost a very special person in Simon Parrish.

His family and friends will cherish many great memories of him, not least his ever optimistic outlook and genuine interest in the well-being of others.

Simon passed away peacefully with his wonderful wife Chloe by his side and his family close by.

His last days were spent peacefully at St. Margaret's Hospice in Taunton, Somerset.  I had the opportunity to visit Simon there and the care and compassion of the team there was really great.

I felt that the words below (taken from 'Grace under pressure' by Elbow) convey both the way in which Simon held himself and the support he received from Chloe, his family and the team at St. Margaret's.

'Grace under pressure
Cooling palm across my brow
Eyes of an angel,
Lay me down'

Like many of its kind up and down the country, St. Margaret's has very limited funding from the NHS and relies upon donations; if you are able to make a donation of any size it will be greatly welcomed.

Thank you and best wishes,

Jonny Phillips
