Story
On Friday 8th April 2016, myself and 8 other apprentices will be undertaking and participating in a fundraiser day we have arranged.
We are doing a Row-a-Thon, cake sale, tombola and charity MD vs apprentice football match.
This is all to help us raise the funds we need to refurbish part of the vocational college at Petty Pool and hold the disadvantaged students a mini festival.
We have chosen to refurbish the colleges outdoor centre as it currently looks tired and a little old fashioned. We want the students to feel at home and relaxed when they are in these rooms and we also want it to attract other residential visits from schools, colleges and businesses.
We have decided to hold the students a mini festival as festivals are a huge part of young people's lives. A lot of young people go to a festival when they are late teens. However these students may not get the chance or may have to go with carers, rather than all their friends. So holding the festival at there college means there is plenty support around for them, and they get to spend the day with all their friends.
