Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

A couple of weeks ago, my Step dad, Richard Morrey, died of Melanoma Cancer. He was a massive part of my life and obviously my family was absolutely distraught. I never saw it coming, and I never fully understood how aggressive this cancer was.

I want to help other families that have gone through what my family has, as it is, completely horrendous, the experience you go through is unbelievable, and anyone who has lost someone so close to you, would understand; it's horrible. To add, I also lost my biological father years ago in a road accident. I lost 2 fathers before I was even 16.

So I wanted to obviously do something to help and fund raise for other people suffering from cancer and also to support their families. I thought of my biggest fear, (heights) and thought what better way to raise money than to jump out of a plane!..

So myself and 4 others, Jonathon Savage, Joy Tomkinson, James Morrey and Arthur Joustra, will be doing a tandem skydive in the Summer of 2015 and our aim is to raise as much money as we possibly can in memory of Richard Morrey. I want to make my fathers as proud as I possibly can.

This really means everything to me, I loved my Step Dad so much.

About the charity

Melanoma UK was set up in 2007 in memory of Jon Herron. We support patients and families affected by melanoma (skin cancer) and funds raised help to provide that support. We are funding much needed melanoma nurses along with help in vital research. Melanoma is a cruel disease, still without a cure.
