Story
Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On Sunday, October 31st, I will be running in the footsteps of giants as I participate in the Athens Marathon. This year is particularly significant as it marks the 2500 year anniversary of the original run of the soldier Pheidippides from a battlefield at the site of the town of Marathon, Greece, to Athens in 490 B.C., bringing news of a Greek victory over the Persians. Legend has it that Pheidippides delivered the momentous message "Niki!" ("victory"), then collapsed and died- which is the point at which I hope to depart from the legend!
I will be running in association with two charities- one based in Greece, and the other based in the UK.
MDA (Muscular Dystrophy Association) Hellas is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving survival outcomes from muscular dystrophy and to addressing the many problems that neuromuscular diseases cause. The organization’s main goals are to conduct advocacy work in the health, education, athletic and professional sectors and to help people who suffer from these diseases integrate themselves into society. Because MDA is based in Athens, it is not affiliated with Just Giving, so all donations must be made by bank transfer to:

UNSEEN UK is a charity established to disrupt and challenge human trafficking at all levels. Unseen's specific focus is to combat the trafficking of women for sexual exploitation. They aim to provide safety, hope and choice to women who have been victims of trafficking and help them to rebuild their lives.
My employer Credit Suisse will generously match the total amount of money I manage to raise for Unseen UK, as long as I pass the 500gpb mark!
Please click on the Unseen link on my page to donate.
Thank you so much for your support, it means the world to me!!!!
