Quite a challenge I have set myself - running the Virgin Money London Marathon in April, in memory of Daniel Mardell for 'Action for Southern Africa' (ACTSA). 

My aim is to raise £1,500 for this extremely worth while cause - whose work across the continent helps those living in poverty, by promoting education and pushing for gender equality. More details of their work can be found on their website - http://www.actsa.org/page-1002-AboutUs.html

Dan had a great influence in my life and is sorely missed by all who knew him. It is my hope that by supporting those in greatest need, and continuing to donate to charities such as ACTSA, similar tragedies will be made much less frequent.

I hope to complete the 26.2 mile course in under 6 hours...all being well -  5 and a half hours.                        So it's time to begin training!
