Photographer Stef Ferrucci presents in collaboration with ATD Fourth World: Embrace the world and its beauty, they are free gifts to all of us waiting to be valued and cherished irrespective of whether we are poor or wealthy.
This exhibition is a labour of love by Cambridge-based Photgrapher Stef Ferrucci. While travelling the world, Stef Ferrucci encountered people who despite living in extreme poverty, were happy and enjoyed the world and its beauty as they knew only the reality they were born in.
On the other hand, in Western societies there is plenty of wealth though we can find numerous disadvantaged and poor people here, too. This is mainly due to illnesses and lack of a basic capacity to participate effectively in society. The poor in our societies experience material deprivation and social exclusion. Knowing of a better reality that surrounds them and which is lived in front of their eyes, they rue their circumstances daily and are not able to see the world and its beauty.
This exhibition is a vivid journey through an artist's cognitive awakening; an exploration of what it means to value and be valued.
In association with ATD Fourth World, this powerfully evocative photography exhibition is the result of Stef Ferrucci's desire to support charities in the communities she has been part of.
"I am thrilled to use the outcome of my lifelong passion, photography, to do some good. I will, therefore, give all proceeds from this event to ATD Fourth World."
Exhibition Date: Sunday 23rd November 2014 to Friday 19th December.
N.B.: Unfortunately 'Just Giving' allowed me to upload only a limited number of photographs, i.e. you cannot see all the photographs currently displayed in the exhibition. Though, should you have questions on the photographs please send an email to: Ferrucci@gmx.de.
